licensed for reuse under this Creative Commons Licence. SHELSLEY BEAUCHAMP ALL SAINTS CHURCH is in Worcestershire. The west tower is 14th century, although the rest of the church dates from 1846. It consists of a chancel, a nave of three bays, north and south aisles, a north vestry and south porch. The construction is largely sandstone ashlar. ADDITION NOTES: (1) 21st May 1713 Edmund Burgum attended Great Shelsey Free School as a schoolmaster. (WRO. 716.051-BA.2697, parcel 1, sub bk 1700-173, subscription book). (2) 1820 - Henry Burgum, farmer, at Callow Hill, Feckenham. (3) The Worcester Guardian dated 03 October 1846 stated in an article - Mr H. Burgam was commended for his second best in competition of the best pen of five lambs and for his pigs. For the best field of common turnips £21.10s. Mr Henry Burgum. Also to the third man-servant who has worked the longest time in one service of good character, a pig worth £1. 5s.; James Fortey, servant to Mr. Henry Burgum, for 29 years. |
